Sheikh Khalifa Hospital has been the main destination for healthcare services in Socotra. Kidney Dialysis Unit in Sheikh Khalifa Hospital has been one of the most important units that provide patients with better services since launch in 2018.
Dr. Omran Al Khalifa, Head of Kidney Dialysis Unit, asserted that all patients receive better services since launch in 2018, as they receive 2 to 3 session a week regularly with support of Khalifa Foundation.
He added that the Department contributed since launch to serving people of Socotra, who could not travel abroad for treatment. The Kidney Dialysis Unit conducted 141 sessions for 6 patients in 2018, which increased to be 479 sessions for 12 patients in 2019. In 2020, the Unit provided 699 session for 19 patients, as the Unit used to welcome 3 parties a day.
Ahmed Salem, Kidney Dialysis Technician, mentioned that the Unit was working continuously to welcome all patients in accordance with the established schedule, with a generous support by Khalifa Foundation. He also expressed gratitude and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation.
In turn, Tali Hamoudi, one of the beneficiary patients, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation, and expressed his happiness for existence of this unit in Socotra, which helped many people in avoiding travel abroad for treatment.
It was worth noting that the Kidney Dialysis Unit was one of the most important achievements by Khalifa Foundation in Socotra.
