The Khalifa Foundation contributed to encouraging palm farmers in the Socotra Archipelago by supporting them from the beginning of the emergence of pollination through the provision of pollination to the purchase of agricultural crops to encourage farmers to earn from their farms and to dispense with traditional methods.
Engineer Eyad Abdullah, the Agricultural Engineer at Khalifa Foundation, confirmed that the Foundation was working for the fourth season to buy the production of palm farmers in many areas of Socotra and with the various types of dates known on the island to be wrapped by modern methods in the brothers’ blood factory for Socotra dates, which was established with the support of the Khalifa Foundation.
Abdullah added that the stages of support are carried out from the beginning of the pollen season by distributing the vaccine and then packaging bags, ending with the purchase of the product so that it benefits farmers and their families through the financial return that accrues to them.
Sheikh Hassan Al-Qaisi, Sheikh of the Al Qaisi Tribe, commended these encouraging steps that the Foundation was working to support them, stressing that through the marketing of crops, they got rid of the old traditional ways in which the people put dates in close proximity, as the Foundation contributed to buying the product with a good financial return that would benefit them.
It is noteworthy that the Khalifa Foundation pays more attention to supporting various vital sectors, in order to lift the reality of the archipelago for the better in various fields, including the agricultural sector.
