The agricultural sector of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in Socotra Governorate has completed the afforestation campaign of the Ali bin Abi Talib School after the opening of its new expansion with 12 classrooms to show it a distinctive and beautiful luster.
An official source at the Khalifa Foundation said that the Ali Bin Abi Talib School afforestation campaign is part of the foundation’s campaigns that target several schools to plant them and instill in their students the values of the importance of agriculture and its role in development and the advancement of societies, as well as to create a healthy environment for students and teachers.
He pointed out that the Foundation is constantly keen to launch programs of importance in the life of Socotra, including agriculture, as the island is an environmental area with a multi-climate and arable soil, and it needs to encourage its children to establish home gardens and nurseries, and then farms to achieve food security for the island.
The launch of the agricultural campaign at Ali Bin Abi Talib School comes within a series of previous efforts of the Khalifa Foundation in the agricultural sector on the island, which includes supporting the home gardens of citizens with seedlings, planting the streets and establishing model farms that contribute to securing the island with its requirements of vegetables and fruits.
The teachers expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Khalifa Foundation for this campaign, which gave the school a special aesthetic and created an idea for the students about agriculture and its importance to the family and society.
