Socotra Island witnessed a significant medical event by the launch of vaccinating people of the Island against COVID-19 supported by the UAE, which has showed a lot of concern with the essential services to the people of Socotra, especially in the health sector.
UAE has proved, through the hands of charity in Socotra; Khalifa Foundation and the Emirates Red Crescent, that it has been the main supporter to people of Socotra.
Mr. Raed Al Jubairi, Senior Deputy Governor of the Socotra Archipelago, indicated that the local authority, military and security leaders, sheikhs, and leaders of people of Socotra have witnessed vaccination of people of Socotra against COVID-19. It was worth noting that Khalifa Hospital received the vaccine doses, supported by the Emirates Red Crescent, to support people of Socotra at this hard time.
Mr. Raed Al Juraibi mentioned that the medical sector in Socotra has witnessed significant promotion. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE and the Emirates Red Crescent for the generous support.
In turn, Abdullah Ahmed bin Kanzeher, Leader of the First Marine Brigade in Socotra, expressed his appreciation to the UAE for the great concern with helping people of Socotra in all fields.
Dr. Abdullah Hanorah, Official at the UAE medical mission in Socotra, indicated that the team is delegated to vaccinate people of Socotra against COVID-19.
The officials indicated that the UAE has supported people of Socotra by sending 60,000 doses to vaccinate all people.
