With the spread of the novel coronavirus around the world, Khalifa Hospital in Socotra took all precautionary measures and necessary procedures to control the spread of COVID-19 in the Island. The Hospital started asking the people for visiting hospitals and medical centers to ensure their safety.
As a continuation of these efforts, Sheikh Khalifa Hospital Team tested tourists in Summerland Hotel for the novel coronavirus after its global spread. Such efforts were supported by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The hospital sent a team to test tourists and conduct all laboratory tests as used for detection of COVID-19 patients. Dr. Sadam Khalid said to Socotra Online that “we implemented the instructions of the administration of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital in Socotra and went to Summerland Hotel to conduct tests on tourists existing in Socotra for safety of these tourists and people of Socotra of the novel coronavirus. After testing, we concluded that there were no infections.”
In turn, the tourists in Summerland Hotel in Hadiboh expressed their thanks to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital for such routine medical tests, especially the novel coronavirus test.
