Today, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation completed removal of the mountain fall that blocked the strategic road of Haibaq due to the tropical cyclone that hit Socotra during the last few days.
The reopening was largely welcomed by the people who came to celebrate the reopening with presence of leaders, sheikhs and public figures. After reopening the road, tens of vehicles passed by with many passengers that were stuck due to the damaged road.
It was considered as one of the most important roads in Socotra, as it links Hadiboh with the airport and first Brigade in addition to western, middle and southern regions and Qalansiyah.
Sheikh Yahia Badbah, Identifier of Dexim, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for the great effort in helping people and quick reopen of the road, which was blocked due to the tropical cyclone Bhavan.
Sheikh Suliman Fadnahen said that reopening the road ended blockade that many people faced and lasted for 6 days.
He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates represented by Khalifa Foundation for supporting the people of Socotra.
Ali Saad Ali, a public figure, assured that the role of the United Arab Emirates was huge and has been present at all times and in all fields, and expressed his appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for such effort.
