With instructions from His Excellency Sheikh Khalfan Al Mazroui, Representative of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, a 1500L of diesel for power generators monthly was approved for the villages of the west coastline in Socotra.
Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation supported Qadah, Satmo, Danoban, Qashro, Qatana, Alama, Sharet, Sandafa, Salmaho, and Ablehn villages with power generators, while Masaqbehn and Shoroq villages were supported by the charitable people in the United Arab Emirates.
Socotra Online met Salem Daheq, Member at Socotra Development Committee, who stated that he visited the villages of the west coastline with Ali Al Bairaq, from Khalifa Foudnation, and Mohamed Salem Al Salemi, Representative of West Coastal Areas, and were acquainted with the humanitarian effort of Khalifa Foundation there, especially, the activities relating to lighting villages, as it reached to 11 villages with 8 power generators with 1500L of diesel monthly. Furthermore, the work was undergone in the remaining areas. They reviewed the power generators in the villages and the works for connection were being completed during few days.
Daheq added that these works were within the efforts of Khalifa Foundation relating to power project for these areas through a central station, which was undergone these days.
It was worth noting that lighting operations were undergone in other areas in addition to the work of power connection to villages near Hadiboh.
He concluded with expressing thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for such humanitarian support in various service and developmental aspects, which helped in improvement of quality of life of the people of the Archipelago.
