Engineer Rafat Al Theqali, Head of the Southern Transitional Council; Raid Al Juraibi, Senior Deputy Governor; and members of the Development Committee of Khalifa Foundation, launched the (Suqia… Water for Life) campaign yesterday. It would seek to reach all remote areas across the Socotra Island.
It would last for three months to support all areas that suffered from lack of water due to lack of storm water.
Sheikh Saeed Malek Saeed, Identifier of Qabhaten, commended the great role of the United Arab Emirates in mitigating suffers of people of Socotra due to lack of water, which would require large amount of money for provision.
In turn, people of Socotra expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for its great support to all people across Socotra.
