Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation invited the identifiers, sheikhs and orchard owners concerning with the red palm weevil to contact and coordinate with the development committee to acquaint them with the risk of the red palm weevil as it was hard to be detected.
Engineer Eyad Abdella, Agricultural Engineer at Khalifa Foundation, and Salem Hawash, Representative of Environmental Sector at Khalifa Foundation, attended the awareness-raising meeting.
Fahmi Ghatnani, Director General of Agriculture, and Ahmed Said Suliman Demdad, Local Expert of Palm Weevil Control, focused on the methods of early detection and mechanism of treatment of Palm Weevil in addition to the method of reporting to the concerned authorities to control it.
