Khalifa Foundation implements Various Gardening Initiatives and Events in Schools in Socotra

Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation implemented various gardening initiatives and events in schools in Socotra in line with the objectives aimed to be achieved to make children use to gardening their surrounding through programs to enrich their skills and raise their awareness of agriculture.

Khalifa Foundation, through its specialized team, seeks to gardening schools in Socotra to help them recognize the way of adaption with the best and proper method. Khalifa Foundation worked on training children on essentials of agriculture and getting them acquainted with names of various trees, fruits and corps.

In addition, the Foundation encouraged families and schools for agriculture and got them acquainted with the important role of caring for the environment.

Ms. Amal Saeed, Principal of Ataya Model School, said that they gardened Ataya Model School with support of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, which always provided the school with support in different aspects. The Foundation provided the school with all tomato, corn and mango seedlings.

Nahed Mohamed Salem, Teacher at Ataya Model School, mentioned that they asked Khalifa Foundation for creating a small simulation to get children acquainted with the nature of agriculture.

Furthermore, Ms. Shaimaa Assem commended the generous support by Khalifa Foundation and the great effort by the specialized agriculture team. She also expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for supporting the school in all aspects.

Studies asserted that contact of children with the soil would make their mood better and make them respect self and get more confidence.

Student Ahmed Abdullah asserted that they planted tomato and eggplant, which they planted previously in cooperation with the agriculture team at Khalifa Foundation. Furthermore, he thanked Khalifa Foundation for the generous support.
