The Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has started the construction of an overhead electrical network for the Steroh area (Zayed City 1) in the Socotra archipelago, with a length of 3.5 km.
The standards and specifications were used in extending the network and choosing the locations of the columns by placing a column every 50 meters with a total of 63 columns to feed the village, and also 19 columns to feed the Steroh Valley.
The total capacity of the Steroh plant is 700 kilowatts, producing 500 kilowatts of solar energy and 200 kilowatts of generators.
It is noteworthy that the Sheikh Zayed plant for the Year of Tolerance, Nujed, consists of 2 generators, each generator capacity of 100 watts, with a total station capacity of 200 kilowatts.
The people of the Steroh region praised the role of the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and service that it provides to the people of the archipelago, including electricity services, which became a realistic dream after a long wait, appreciating those sincere and fraternal humanitarian and development positions from the United Arab Emirates to the people of the Socotra Archipelago.
