Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation launched the distribution of the first batch of agricultural seedlings to the farmers in Socotra today.
Engineer Eyad Ali Abdella, Agricultural Supervisor at Khalifa Foundation, said that total 2500 of different kinds of vegetable and fruit seedlings were distributed today aiming at encouraging the farmers to farm, and highlighted that 100 home gardens benefited from this batch, 30% of which were in Hadiboh and 70% in different places across Socotra.
He assured that this was within the efforts of Khalifa Foundation and its concern with helping families in provision of food security. He also added that the second batch of the same number of seedlings would be distributed targeting number of places and farmers tomorrow.
He highlighted that Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation continued the process of distribution of vegetable and fruit seedlings of all kinds during the season in accordance with the need and response.
