Scholarships for abroad studying is considered as an important component of human development in different fields. No doubt that the scholarships provided by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for 110 male and female students from Socotra have a great significance in benefiting the Socotra Archipelago in general and scholarship students in specific.
For three years, Khalifa Foundation launched an annual tradition to award scholarships to distinguished students of secondary schools who fulfill the scholarship requirements. The Foundation is considered as a bridge towards a bright future for these students to be specialized individuals in various fields to benefit the Socotra Archipelago.
Socotra Online followed up status of students abroad and reflected opinions of students. Younis Rebyan, Student at Faculty of Engineering in Mechatronics major, highlighted that his major included many specialties gathering both mechanical and electrical engineering in addition to computer sciences and control systems. A graduate from this major would be able to work in different fields of engineering.
Student Abdel Hameed Omarin Basher said that he chose the Industrial Engineering as his study major, as it was a new specialty in Socotra concerning with science to serve mechanical designing and different production and manufacture operations.
Student Ibrahim Faashel Abdullah, Student at Faculty of Administrative Information Systems, that he afforded a great effort and time for success. He also highlighted that this specialty would support decision making and coordination, analysis and controlling information.
