The people of the Socotra Archipelago feel great concern and show readiness for the cyclone “Kyarr”, as the cyclones were similar to the ones before. The water flooded group of homes, and winds damaged many homes. The field teams of Khalifa Foundation and Emirates Red Crescent were ready for all possible emergency cases for safety of the people of Socotra. The teams took all necessary measures to limit the results of the cyclone “Kyarr”.
An official at Khalifa Foundation highlighted that its efforts were with instructions of the Representative of Khalifa Foundation, His Excellency Khalfan Al Mazrouei. He added that the Foundation developed a comprehensive plan in relation with evacuating the harmed people.
With regard to ensuring electricity, Engineer Yasser Al Ani, Director of Dexim Power, said that the company completed preparation of 6 emergency teams with all required technical equipment to be mobilized in different places across Socotra in Zayed Station 1 near Hashrah, Zayed Station 2 in Hadiboh, Zayed Station 3 in Muri, and Zayed Station 4 in Qalansiyah to ensure non-interruption of electricity during the cyclone.
