Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Emirates Red Crescent distributed the project of integrated food baskets in Shazab districts in the east of Socotra today.
100 families were benefited from the project, which included different kinds of foodstuff, aiming at relieving the people from the suffer of purchasing them.
Sheikh Mahnad Said Al Shazabi, the sheikh of Shazab district, commended the efforts of Khalifa Foundation and the UAE Red Crescent and their continuous concern with helping the people of Socotra and relieving their suffers. He highlighted that the humanitarian activities of the United Arab Emirates in Socotra and the region have been witnessed for years, showing the fraternity bonds between Yemen and the United Arab Emirates.
In this regard, Sheikh Rashid Abbas said that this project would have a positive effect on the people in relation with the essential foodstuff. Furthermore, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leaders of the United Arab Emirates represented in Khalifa Foundation and the UAE Red Crescent for such developmental, service and humanitarian works.
In addition, the team of Khalifa Foundation and the UAE Red Crescent visited Shazab School to get acquainted with the situation and different requirements of the school.
