Various events and events in Socotra during the last few days, with large audience and follow up in addition to internal and external media coverage, as it was considered as important events with positive impact across Socotra.
The first event was the organization of the third collective wedding by the Emirates Red Crescent, which was held in Sheikh Zayed City 1. It was attended by representative of Khalifa Foundation, and number of directors general, sheikhs, leaders and social influencers. It was very joyful with blessing of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.
Khalifa Foundation also honored the winning poet in the “Poet of Socotra” Competition 2020, which lasted for 4 days with large participation. The poet Ahmed Saad Darhami received his financial prize from the representative of Khalifa Foudnation, His Excellency Sultan Al Kaabi, Head of Development Committee, Sheikh Ali bin Essa bin Afrar, and Director General of Culture, Omar Qablan.
The “Poet of Socotra” Competition and camels jumping competition was held in coinciding with Nujed Festival in Zayed City 1 in Estro in the south of Socotra with large audience and integrated support by Khalifa Foundation.
Anbar Al Amri, Head of events associating Nujed Festival, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for the great support in different places across Socotra.
In addition, Hadiboh and Qalansiyah witnessed a comprehensive and successful cleaning campaigns by the Development Committee at Khalifa Foundation in order to remove all plasti and paper waste deforming the look of the capital and Qalansiyah.
The two campaign witnessed a large participation showing the great concern of the people with their cities.
In this regard, the people of Qalansiyah expressed their appreciation and thanks to Khalifa Foundation for the outstanding effort.
Khalifa Foundation continued its outstanding effort in supporting handicrafts and ceramic items in Socotra in line with its concern with development of industries and handicrafts, which would contribute to solving some economic problems and motivating the cultural and tourism movements in Socotra.
In line with the important events launched by Khalifa Foundation, the Foundation launched receiving dates from the farmers for the third year for cleaning and wrapping in an integrated factory including modern equipment for wrapping.
