People of Socotra expressed their happiness for receiving the first batch of Senopharm vaccine doses against COVID-19, which was provided by the Emirates Red Crescent. The quantity delivered by the UAE to Socotra has reached 60,000 doses, which were delivered to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital.
Socotra Online was present to reflect feedback of people during this event. Raid Al Jubairi, Senior Deputy Governor of Socotra, commended the great effort by the UAE in providing the vaccine for the island to protect people of Socotra from COVID-19 pandemic. He also commended the role of the UAE in concerning with providing people of Socotra with their needs in different fields.
Raafat Al Theqali, Head of the Southern Transitional Council, expressed his happiness for arrival of the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine by the Emirates Red Crescent. He also asserted that officials have worked hard to prepare for the campaign of vaccination.
Colonel Saleh Saleh Yaslem Faris, Consultant of Socotra Governorate, thanked sheikhs and people of the UAE for the humanitarian support to people of Socotra through provision of COVID-19 vaccine, which would support the medical and health care services in Socotra. This initiative came in line with impacts of COVID-19 in order to limit its spread.
