Socotra witnessed in the first minute of 2021, a moment of hope and optimism for brightening future with launch of Hand-in-Hand Initiative to provide Socotra with uninterrupted lighting. It was an initiative launched by Khalifa Foundation to support project of connection of electricity to all cities and districts across Socotra.
These historical moments witnessed by the Island returned hope to people of Socotra who have been waiting for development and progress of Socotra.
Socotra has been provided by uninterrupted electricity 24/7 with support of Khalifa Foundation, which afford all possible efforts to connect electricity to all remote areas.
Khalifa Foundation supports 5 power plants in Socotra, which implemented by Dexam Power in Hadiboh, Qalansiyah, Muri, and Alama in the Western Coastline.
Provision of uninterrupted electricity to the disadvantaged areas has been very important to people of Socotra for attainment of better life.
Launch of this initiative has been largely welcomed by people of Socotra on different social media websites to reflect the developed image of Socotra to the world.
