Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation conducted a gardening campaign in Ataya Model School, in which male and female students of Ataya Model School participated. Students learned how to plant and decorate schools with trees aiming at deepening the aesthetic sense and raising awareness of importance of trees.
Engineer Eyad Ali Abdella highlighted that this campaign was within extent of concern and support of Khalifa Foundation to community aiming at encouraging people to agriculture. He also highlighted that Khalifa Foundation launched distribution of 5,000 seedlings of vegetables and fruits in the eastern zone of the Island to encourage people to arrange their needs of vegetables and fruits.
He added that the Foundation had following plans aiming at distributing different kinds of seedlings to farmers, especially home-garden farmers across Socotra, to improve environment and external look of Socotra.
In turn, Ms. Amal Saeed, Principal of Ataya Model School, thanked Khalifa Foundation for its efforts in this campaign, which was largely welcomed by teaching staff, students and people.
She also asserted that the school concerned with motivating male and female students to maintain and care for trees.
