The Hygiene Fund in Socotra implemented a cleaning campaign for the various streets and markets of the governorate, with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The campaign, in which various mechanisms and means of transportation were used, lifted tens of tons that had been accumulated on University Street and rounded candles and distorted the general view of the city.
Ahmed Saleh, the Executive Director of the Hygiene and Improvement Fund in Socotra, said that the campaign contributed greatly to the disposal of waste and solid materials that accumulated on University Street and Candles Tour, as it gave the place its beautiful splendor, and there are other places that are targeted by continuous campaigns to keep Socotra clean.
He pointed out that the campaign comes as a sensing of fears of the spread of dangerous diseases and viruses. He also pointed out that the Hygiene Fund appreciated the efforts and support of the Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation to implement campaigns and routine cleaning work and to get rid of any waste.
The people of Socotra expressed their high appreciation for the efforts of the Khalifa Foundation and its humanitarian teams, which were constantly working to strengthen its presence among the people of the governorate and meet their needs and requirements, stressing the importance of the campaign in removing the waste that resides in many public places and distorting the environmental landscape of Socotra, in addition to the risks of bringing diseases as a result of its odors.
