Today afternoon, the first heritage festival in Dexim, which was organized by Khalifa Foundation, launched, as the festival witnessed the opening match of Dexim Football Championship, which ended with wining of Al Etihad Team, one goal for none. The championship would continue for a month with participation of 12 sport teams.
Group of social and sport people and sheikhs in Socotra attended the festival in addition to group of audience. The festival witnessed cultural events relating to the people of Socotra in addition to the women handcrafts. The audience enjoyed group of arts and folklore shows.
The opening statement commended the role and effort of the United Arab Emirates represented in Khalifa Foundation and praised its concern with the sport and heritage events that spread joy and happiness among the people, who were eager to show their skills. The opening statement praised the support of Khalifa Foundation in different service, vital and developmental sectors. In addition, the people expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Khalfan Al Mazrouei, who has cared for helping the people in different districts and villages.
Sheikh Suliman bin Malek said, in the statement of Sheikhs, highlighted that organization of this championship and festival was a great honor to the people of Dexim, and announced that the championship would be named after Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Representative of Khalifa Foundation to Socotra.
