Farmers of Qaiso in Qalansiyah organized a celebration for end of harvesting season, which had a great concern by the people of United Arab Emirates in line with the support of Khalifa Foundation to agriculture across Socotra. Khalifa Foundation can be considered as the supporting hand of the economic development in Socotra in order to achieve sustainable development and food security.
The celebration was attended by members of Dates Committee in addition to group of sheikhs and leaders of the district. Mr. Hassan Mohamed Al Qaisi, Sheikh of Al Qaisi Tribe, delivered a speech, in which he commended the role of the brothers in the United Arab Emirates for the great support to the Socotra Archipelago. It was worth noting that this support by Khalifa Foundation was in various sectors, especially agriculture.
In this regard, Sheikh/ Suliman Fadnehen, Member at Dates Committee, expressed his appreciation to the leaders and people of the United Arab Emirates for the great support to agriculture. He also highlighted that agriculture would have been eliminated without such concern and care by Khalifa Foundation and its Representative, His Excellency Khalfan Al Mazrouei.
In turn, farmers expressed their happiness for this support from Khalifa Foundation, which would contribute to raising awareness for continuation of this profession. In addition, they expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Khalifa Foundation.
