Emirates Red Crescent holds the Fourth Collective Wedding for 200 Bridegrooms and Brides in Socotra

The Emirates Red Crescent organized the fourth edition of the collective wedding for 200 bridegrooms and brides, which would be held in Sheikh Zayed 1 City along Sheikh Zayed Festival.
Rafat Al Theqali, Head of the Transitional Council in Socotra; Raed Al Juraibi, Senior Deputy Governor of Socotra; representatives of the Emirates Red Crescent; Sheikh Ali bin Essa bin Afrar; Sheikh Suliman Shalolah, Senior Sheikh of Socotra; and group of security and military commanders attended the wedding.
Large number of people of Socotra from different tribes in Socotra participated in the wedding. There were signs of appreciation and gratitude to governors and representatives of the United Arab Emirates for all support to the people of Socotra.
The artist Abdel Hakeem bin Burik performed in the wedding, and there were different heritage artistic shows by popular teams.
There were number of old Socotri products for men and women, which would revive the old heritage of Socotra.
The collective wedding witnessed large participating in the camels competition in addition to arrival of the heritage caravan after a 5-day tour.
His Excellency Khalfan Al Mazrouei announced launch of an integrated complex for celebrations including a market and large sport playground, which would be considered as necessary for the Island.
During the wedding, Rafat Al Theqali, Head of Transitional Council, expressed his happiness for participation in the wedding and wished to the grooms and brides permanent happiness.
He also commended role of the United Arab Emirates in different fields including the fourth collective wedding and Sheikh Zayed Festival.
Raed Al Juraibi, Senior Deputy Governor of Socotra, expressed his happiness for holding this collective wedding sponsored by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, who had an effective role in facilitating wedding for many young men in Socotra every year.
Sultan Ali bin Essa bin Afrar expressed best wishes and congratulations by the General Representative of the UAE humanitarian foundations to all grooms. He added that the UAE charity hands have supported people of Socotra in different sectors.
