The Statistics Department at the Emirates Red Crescent Office in Socotra launched distribution of the social affairs cards to people of Socotra, which would help them in receiving financial and in-kind assistance in addition to healthcare and medical services that were provided by the Emirates Red Crescent and Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in Socotra.
Distribution of the social affairs cards was in line with the UAE efforts in helping people of Socotra and providing them with the essential services and various assistances through its hands of charity in Socotra.
The Statistics Department at the Emirates Red Crescent Office in Socotra conducted several field visits to the Island and registered all required information of the families that would receive the cards.
This UAE initiative was largely welcomed by people of Socotra, who expressed their happiness and joy; as such cards would help them in obtaining assistance and services in addition to mitigating their suffering.
