The Executive Director of Dexam Power, Eng. The head of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Socotra, Engineer Raafat Ali Al-Thaqali, said that the governorate enjoys stability in the electricity service in light of the support of the brothers in the UAE, where the generating power reached 20 megawatts, which is for the first time on the island to reach this level, where he was pleased to expand the service to a large number of The areas adjacent to Hadiboh and the West Coast, and Al Thaqali thanked the UAE for its efforts and support for the electricity sector, which represents the most important and vital service sectors in human life and as part of its great support for the archipelago.
The speeches of the audience from the Development Committee and the General Council of the people of Socotra and Al-Mahra stressed the need to put in place appropriate treatments to reduce the improper consumption of electricity, which results in a shortage of energy and weak current in some areas, including the development of electronic meters for housing, with an appropriate tariff cost for the living situation of the population.
The meeting approved the installation of electronic meters for housing in order to rationalize consumption by citizens, conserve energy and adopt an appropriate tariff for it.
