Teams of Khalifa Foundation works constantly and hard to provide Socotra International Airport with the most recent devices and equipment. After completion of operations of maintenance and qualification of all sections of Socotra International Airport, the Foundation provided the Airport with two sensor devices to sterilize travelers automatically, and detect their temperature with full reading of the sterilized person in order to avoid spread of COVID-19.
This support by Khalifa Foundation was largely appreciated by the people of Socotra. Saed Malek, Identifier of Qabhaten, confirmed that this present level of Socotra Airport was a result from development by Khalifa Foundation, the hand of charity of UAE in Socotra, which keeps working on improvement of status of the Airport with the most recent international specifications. He added that the new device in the Airport was a large qualitative leap in line with the precautionary steps by Khalifa Foundation to control COVID-19 and avoid its spread on the island. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for the outstanding support.
In turn, Captain Alaa Al Remehi, Director of Development Operations in Socotra International Airport, mentioned that in line with the development phases by Khalifa Foundation, all sections would be provided with different devices including the new sterilization device. It was worth noting that Khalifa Foundation trained six persons including two airport officials, two officers of political security, and two officers of health office in coordination with Civil Aviation Authority.
Mubarak Salem, Identifier of Qalansiyah, said that upon entering to the Airport, he felt comfortable for the development in different fields thanks to Khalifa Foundation, which worked hard on achievement of development and prosperity in Socotra. He added that these sterilization devices would represent a great importance to the people of Socotra, as the Airport would be considered as their sole link to the world.
Abdullah Mohamed Youssef commended the role of Khalifa Foundation and confirmed that provision of such devices and equipment to Socotra was in line with the effort of Khalifa Foundation in Socotra to compensate the previous deprivation.
Mr. Hassan Al Jamhi expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation and leaders of the United Arab Emirates for the outstanding effort.
