The UAE support to different sectors in Socotra has been continuous for promotion of service sector in Socotra for the benefit of the people of Socotra through establishment of number of stations across cities and villages of Socotra, which suffered from lack of public electricity. Khalifa Foundation worked on establishment of two stations in Hadiboh, Qalansiyah and Muri in addition to continuation of work in Alama and Nujed stations.
The power stations work around the clock to provide the people of Socotra with continuous power for free. Furthermore, Khalifa Foundation was concerned with provision of these stations with gasoline and maintenance in addition to provision with engineering and technical staffs. In addition, Khalifa Foundation worked on replacement of overhead network with modern and developed underground network.
Through the support provided by Khalifa Foundation, the Foundation aimed at arrangement of continuous power for all districts and villages across Socotra to be linked to Alama stations.
People of Socotra commended the continuous support of Khalifa Foundation to them in different sectors including electricity. The people asserted that the effort of Khalifa Foundation aimed at development of the Socotra Archipelago, as the whole people could feel the difference.
