Socotra Online
The work in Ataya Model School commenced with full fund by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in order to support and develop the infrastructure of education sector in Socotra Island and provide modern education facilities for male and female students in ideal environment.
The work was under way in the school, as the pillars of the guard room were casted, the school yard was spread with gravel, and the back door would be installed, in addition to provision of number of teachers to manage the school.
Khalifa Foundation implements many projects in the education sector in Socotra as one of the remote islands, where students cannot go for learning due to lack of sufficient schools and the weak infrastructure such as roads and transportation. The construction of these model schools supported with modern learning means and laboratories achieves hope for the students of Socotra to have new developed schools in their remote areas. Thereupon, this will contribute to achieve better future for the Island and families there, since the schools play a significant role in scientific, intellectual and cultural development of people and preparation of a new generation that can face the future challenges with science, skill and persistence.
