Cleaning Campaign in Socotra supported by Khalifa Foundation was largely welcomed by people of Socotra, as it aimed at removal of solid and plastic waste that covered streets and beaches in order to avoid spread of viruses.
The Campaign witnessed a wide participation by local authorities, transitional council and Development Committee in addition to security authorities and students of Socotra.
Socotra Online was present to reflect feedback of people in relation with importance of such Campaign and its positive impact on community.
Salem Daheq, Member of Development Committee at Khalifa Foundation, highlighted that this Campaign aimed at cleaning streets of Socotra in response to the critical status of streets of Socotra.
Salem Hawash, Former Director General of Environment Protection Office, asserted that this cleaning campaign would have an effective impact in removal of waste from entertainment areas, which have been neglected during the previous period, in order to avoid spread of viruses.
Mr. AbdelRahman Al Akhras, Deputy Director of Socotra Institute for Training and Consultation, highlighted importance of this campaign aiming at making Hadiboh free from waste.
Mohamed Ali Shanqab highlighted that people was present to participate in this initiative to remove waste to maintain and revive beauty of Socotra and avoid spread of diseases.
