In outstanding community celebration, Community College in Socotra organized a distinguished celebration to graduate the second batch of students and honor the distinguished ones for the academic year 2019/ 2020 with support of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
During the celebration, Saleh Ali, Deputy Governor; Raafat Al Theqali, Head of Transitional Council; Khalifa Ammar Al Tamimi, Representative of Khalifa Foundation; Saad Amer Al Darehi, Dean of Education College; Abdullah Al Maaoli, Director General of Vocational Education and Training; and group of directors, teaching staff members, social influencers, and parents were present to witness the celebration. Engineer Raid Al Juraibi, Senior Deputy Governor of Socotra, congratulated the distinguished and top students for achieving their dreams.
He asserted that graduation of this batch would contribute to fill the gap of labor market with qualified administrative and technical persons, and also commended support by Khalifa Foundation to education in Socotra, and concern with higher education.
Ammar Al Tamimi, Representative of Khalifa Foundation, on behalf of all officials at Khalifa Foundation, congratulated the top and distinguished students, and expressed concern of Khalifa Foundation with education of all stages in Socotra. He also asserted that Khalifa Foundation concerned with qualifying students in all fields to serve their community.
In turn, Raafat Al Theqali, Head of Transitional Council, mentioned that people of Socotra were very happy for witnessing graduation of such distinguished students to merge into labor market to serve their community. He also commended the great support by Khalifa Foundation to education of all stages in Socotra.
Dr. Nadeem Al Azibi, Dean of Community College, welcomed all attendee and highlighted that this batch consisted of 39 students with 7 top ones. He also thanked Khalifa Foundation for the continuous support to the College, and sponsorship of graduation of the second batch. He added that Khalifa Foundation has been the main supporter to the College, as it used to provide the College with staff members and support continuation of educational process in the exceptional circumstances after reduction of the budget to .25%.
He also commended the great support by officials of Khalifa Foundation to education in the Socotra Archipelago.
Speech of the graduates, which was remarked by Najwa Abdullah Ahmed, expressed the deep happiness of organization of this celebration by the College with support by Khalifa Foundation, which has been the main supporter to the College and students during the last three years. The speech also included words of gratitude and appreciation to deanship and teaching staff of the College.
During the celebration, there were poems and statements to show importance of graduation celebration, and then the distinguished students were honored with certificates of excellence and in-kind awards provided by Khalifa Foundation.
