Tourists come to visit Socotra frequently, which is not a coincidence. It attributes to magical nature that attracts all people across the world to visit this Island, as it has unique nature and environmental tourism in addition to its historical importance.
Studies indicate that Socotra has specific unique plants, as among 800 species of plants, there are 270 settled plants in Socotra that are not existed in any place around the world.
A French mission conducted studies on animals, plants, insects, and birds, which has been the safe place for several species away from the external threats.
Dr. Michelle Kot, Member of the French Mission and Birds Researcher, mentioned that the Socotra Archipelago is a habitat for several species of birds, insects, and wild animals, as there are 179 species of birds that live in 32 locations across the Island. In addition, there are 6 species that exist in Socotra and not in any place across the word.
