Leaders in the local authority, sheikhs and notables in the local community in the city of Sheikh Zayed 1 Stero and Nujed, in South of Socotra, considered that the inauguration of work on the Bashayer 1 Stero farm was a great gain in developing the areas of Nujed, providing safe food for its children, providing job opportunities and encouraging farmers to farm, which occupies great importance in our time.
The Bashayer Farms agricultural team continued its continuous activity to equip Bashayer 1 farm in Sheikh Zayed 1 and complete the farm’s irrigation network, which was a modern irrigation network with a drip system and other construction works that raise the level of the farm’s activity and production capacity.
It would be based on the cultivation of various species in addition to vegetable and fruit nurseries in order to enhance the agricultural aspect in the areas we find and encourage farmers to pay attention to the agricultural aspect as it is the key to the development and advancement of any society.
Raed Al-Juraibi, Senior Governor Deputy; and Brigadier General Ali Al-Dixami, Director General of Police, conducted a visit to the farm’s activity, and praised the ongoing work that he witnessed to establish Bashayer 1 Nujed, which was a fertile ground for agriculture and the development of this field. They emphasized that the interest in agriculture is of great importance in securing the needs of the areas of Nujed and the island in general for vegetables and fruits, and contributing to enhancing community awareness of the agricultural aspect and its positive impact on providing safe food for the family.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Abdullah Salim, Sheikh of Zayed City 1, said that the establishment of the Bashayer farm in the Seteroh, Nujed would benefit the people first by providing them with agricultural seedlings and benefiting from the agricultural expertise that enables them to establish their home farms, in addition to working to provide agricultural crops on a permanent basis, which represents a dream for the people.
Citizen Issa Tamyak Ahmed touched on the services that the farm provided to citizens in the Nujed area to encourage them to farm through distributing agricultural seedlings and raising awareness of the correct methods of farming and its importance and positive impact on the lives of families in securing their needs of vegetables and fruits.
Citizen Muhammad Issa said the farm continuously encourages farmers in the Nujed, which was a good thing for the people to develop and develop their farms, by planting vegetables and fruits and distributing them to private farms and home gardens to benefit in the development of their agricultural projects.
Sheikh Salem Abbas Head of the Nujed, stressed that the establishment of the model farm contributes to the development of Nujed in general in the food aspect, and we were happy with this project, which was one of the most important projects that the people of Nujed and Socotra needed in general to benefit from the bounties of their land and supply the market with local products throughout the year.
Sheikh Abbas expressed his satisfaction with the technical and distinguished work of the farm in terms of extending the irrigation network and providing it with water.
Bashayer 1 farm in Stero area is the first that has been launched from Bashayer farms, and other similar farms will be established in various regions of the island to support farmers with seedlings of vegetables and fruits and to enhance the model farm model in various regions of the island.
It would contribute to encouraging the Socotri community to agriculture and taking care of this aspect, ensuring its requirements of vegetables and fruits, and improving the level of healthy food for the Socotri family.
