Today, in the Socotra Governorate, the double draw for the Socotra Football Sevens and Archipelago Ramadan Volleyball Championships for Socotra clubs was conducted, organized by the Football Association branch, with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The draw resulted in dividing the clubs into four groups, where the first group would play the clubs of Al Ain, Al Jamhour, Etoile du Sahel, Al Wasl, Al Ittihad. Al Wahda Al Vanguard, Al Mina, Al Hilal, in addition to Al Majd Club in the Volleyball Championship.
The head of the General Football Association branch, Ahmed Hazoum, confirmed that the two tournaments will start during the first week of the holy month at the stadium of the late Saad Ali Salmeen in the city of Hadibo, and the competitions would be held after Tarawih prayers.
He pointed out that the Khalifa Foundation continues to support the sports sector in the governorate to organize various competitions and provide the clubs’ requirements for sports supplies and operational financial budgets, which in turn contributed to the development of club activities in the governorate.
In addition, the meeting discussed a number of issues related to the organization of the two tournaments and ways to succeed.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the branch, Saleh Ali Mohsen, and the leaders of sports clubs in the governorate.
