Al Sadd Club surpassed Dam Al Akhawen Club with three goals to two goals in the match that brought them together last Tuesday at the stadium of the deceased Saad Ali Salmeen in the first round of the third group competitions in the championship of the deceased Ahmed bin Hamdoun for football for Socotra clubs, which was organized by the Football Association branch with the support of the Khalifa Foundation.
With this result, Al Sadd topped its group with 3 points, followed by Al Ahly and Al Sharq with a point each, after they tied in the meeting that brought them together in the opening group matches.
In the opening matches of the fourth group, yesterday evening, Wednesday, Nujed club managed to defeat its neighbor Al Nasr with a single goal scored by its striker Issa Ghaleb in the 15th minute of the match.
With this result, Nujed scored his first three points in the tournament, which motivates him to top his group and compete for the championship title.
It was worth noting that the Khalifa Foundation has provided great support to the sports sector in the archipelago for more than 5 years and improved its situation through continuing activities, rehabilitating the stadiums on which the championship is held, and supporting the Federation and clubs with financial budgets to activate its role, as well as with sports supplies.
The Foundation was also keen on qualifying athletes by launching several training courses for referees, coaches, administrators, goalkeepers and the leadership of the Federation of Clubs, each in their specialization, to raise their practical efficiency in management, marketing and finance, as well as the technical aspects of training.
