Al Nassr has become the champion of the 4th Nujed Football Championship, which was organized by the Football Association Office in Socotra with support of Khalifa Foundation after defeating Nujed 5/3 by penalties in the final match, which was held on Zayed City 1 Playground in Setorah. The match was managed by Mahfouz Khamis with assistance of Saleh Al Baidani, Mokhtar Mohamed, Khamis Sheikhan, and Ahmed Ali.
During the ceremony, Eng. Rafaat Al Theqali, Head of Transition Council, Sultan Ali bin Essa bin Afrar, Head of Development Committee at Khalifa Foundation, and Ismail Al Junaibi, Sport Official at Khalifa Foundation, honored Al Nassr with golden medals and championship cup, and Nujed with silver medals and second position cup. In addition, Al Jazeera was honored with bronze medals for being the winning of the third position after defeating Al Sharq. Player Saeed Saad Qarhan, player of Al Jazeera, was honored as the best player in the Championship in addition to Rushdi Khamis as higher scorer in the championship with balance of 11 goals, and Saad Abdullah Saad, goalkeeper of Al Nassr, as the best goalkeeper.
Jameel Abdullah, Secretary General of Al Nassr, expressed his happiness for winning the championship cup as the first to Al Nassr, and asserted that this winning should be given to all people in Nujed for the outstanding effort with support of Khalifa Foundation.
Brigadier General Abdullah Ahmed Al Socotri, Leader of First Marine Brigadier, and Brigadier General Ahmed Saad Al Qadomi, Director General of Police, in addition to number of sport leaders, sheikhs and large audience attended the ceremony.
The Championship was launched on June 20 with participation of 18 clubs aiming at motivation of sport activities in Socotra and it reflected the passion of people to sport.
