Al-Hilal is the Socotra Football Champion in the Deceased bin Hamdoun Championship

Al-Hilal Sport Club won the Ahmed Abdullah bin Hamdoun Football Championship, organized by the Football Association Office in Socotra with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, after defeating Radfan Club with a goal without in the final match that brought them together today at the stadium of the deceased Saad Ali Salmeen in the capital Hadiboh.

At the coronation ceremony, which was attended by Nazim bin Qabalan, the Senior Deputy Head of the Transitional Council in Socotra; Sultan Ali bin Issa bin Afrar, Head of the Development Committee, and Raed Al-Juraibi, the First Deputy of Socotra Governorate, expressed his pleasure at the level in which the championship appeared, which bears the name of the deceased bin Hamdoun, the former governor, who left great imprints in Al-Jazira and its sons, may God have mercy on him, and the success it achieved in terms of organization, club participation, and the great competition that accompanied it to the closing ceremony today. Al-Juraibi congratulated Al-Hilal Club on its victory and crowning the championship, as well as the Radfan and Al-Talia clubs for the runner-up and third place. Al-Juraibi valued the support provided by the Khalifa Foundation for the sports sector in the governorate through continuing sports activity on an ongoing basis.

Ahmed Hazoum, the head of the Football Association Office in Socotra, welcomed all the attendees at the coronation ceremony of the champions of the late bin Hamdoun championship. He pointed out that the tournament witnessed a great competition between the clubs that have greatly improved their level in light of the continuous support provided by the Khalifa Foundation to the sports sector under the directives of the general delegate, who is keen Always to provide what the sports sector required to continue its activity, preserve young people and refine their sports abilities.

In addition, Bin Qabalan, Al-Juraibi and Bin Afrar honored Al-Hilal Club with gold medals and the championship cup, and Radfan Club with silver medals and a runner-up cup, while Al-Tali’a Club was honored with bronze medals and a third-place medal.

Radfan club player Ali Salem Al-Amri was honored with the award for the best player in the tournament, Al-Tale’a club striker Abdullah Ali Amer, the tournament’s top scorer with 6 goals, and Al-Hilal club goalkeeper Ali Mubarak Ali as the best goalkeeper in the tournament.

The player Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al-Saqtri was also honored with the Federation Shield in appreciation of his positive participation in the General League Championship for first-class clubs and crowning him with his team, Fahmane Abyan, in the championship as the first player from the governorate to participate and be crowned in this tournament. The coronation ceremony witnessed the withdrawal of 6 prizes for the audience according to the numbers that were distributed before the match to win a winner presented by the Khalifa Foundation to the audience of the final match.

The match management was refereed by Abdul Qawi Ali Daheq, a referee for the court, and Khalid Thani and Mukhtar Muhammad and referee Abdul Rahim Ahmed Ali, a fourth referee, assisted him.

The tournament was launched on the 28th of last October, in which all the governorate’s 18 clubs participated, and it aimed to activate the sports movement of young people within the framework of the clubs and refine their sports capabilities.

The coronation ceremony was attended by the leadership of the Football Association branch, a number of general managers of executive offices, leaders of sports clubs, sheikhs, dignitaries, social figures and a large crowd of fans.
