Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital continues to conduct vaccination against COVID-19 for the population of the governorate targeted at this stage, including healthy people, patients with incurable diseases, the elderly and the most vulnerable to infection.
Yesterday, the hospital’s health team carried out vaccination for the sheikhs, tribes, regions, villages and public figures in the Archipelago to protect them from the danger of the virus, as they are most vulnerable to infection because they mix with members of society on a daily basis.
An official at Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital explained that the hospital seeks to vaccinate all residents of the Socotra Archipelago to protect them from this dangerous virus and strengthen their immunity. He pointed out that vaccination of the sheikhs and public figures was within the hospital plan, as they are among the most vulnerable to the nature of their community activity, which requires them to meet with citizens and official authorities.
In this regard, Socotra Online met with sheikhs and public figures of the regions to monitor their impression in this aspect. The beginning was with the political and social figure Saeed Bahshwan, who praised the Khalifa Foundation keenness to provide a COVID-19 vaccine to all citizens of the Socotra Archipelago, pointing out that he and a large number of sheikhs received the first dose of a vaccine against Corona virus in the council of Sultan Ali Essa bin Afrar, and everyone is pleased with this step to secure his health from the dangerous virus.
Sheikh Salem Suleiman Sharkrad said that he received the vaccine against COVID-19 today, and he felt great satisfaction for this service step provided by the Khalifa Foundation for the residents of Socotra for free. He also called all the people of the island to receive the vaccine and protect themselves, their families and their community from the Corona virus and its serious complications that threaten people’s lives.
Sheikh Mohammed Ahmed, the chief of Jowa, indicated that the Khalifa Foundation was always keen to provide all aspects of support to the residents of Socotra, and the provision of doses of COVID-19 vaccine was only part of this interest in the Socotra human being, adding that today we received the first dose of the vaccine, which is important to confront the strength of the virus and its strain and maintain everyone’s safety.
There is no doubt that the importance of vaccination with the Corona virus vaccine, which the Khalifa Foundation is undertaking, goes beyond individual prevention to contributing to the protection of society and humanity in general.
