With large number of audience from different locations across Socotra, the exhibition of photographs was opened on December 05, 2020, which was considered as the most important date in history of Socotra, as the development and construction agreement was made between Khalifa Foundation, Emirates Red Crescent and Former Governor of Socotra Major General Salem Abdullah Al Socotri. The exhibition aimed at reflection of humanitarian assistance by UAE in Socotra.
During opening, with presence of Sultan Ali bin Essa bin Afrar, Head of Development Committee; Mr. Saeed Al Kaabi, Representative of Khalifa Foundation; Engineer Raafat Al Thaqali, Head of Southern Transitional Council; Sheikh Suliman bin Abdullah Shalolha, Senior Sheikh of Socotra; and group of military and security leaders as well as group of sheikhs and leaders of Socotra, Sheikh Ghanem Al Zahqi got the audience acquainted with contents of exhibition and photographs, which would be considered as small reflection of efforts of the United Arab Emirates in Socotra over 5 years.
During statement, Sheikh Ghanim Al Zahqi welcomed all audience and commended role of the United Arab Emirates in Socotra represented by Khalifa Foundation and Emirates Red Crescent. He also highlighted that this exhibition was just to reflect gratitude and appreciation to leaders and people of the United Arab Emirates, who helped people of Socotra over 5 years.
Furthermore, Engineer Raafat Al Thaqli, Head of Southern Transitional Council, commended the outstanding role of Khalifa Foundation in Socotra, and asserted that all of people of Socotra were grateful for such efforts.
In turn, Mr. Ali Faisal Al Bosairi expressed his happiness for the large number of audience during opening of the exhibition “Reciprocation”. He also thanked Khalifa Foundation for the great effort in all aspects.
In his statement, Sheikh Rashed Abbas Al Shazabi commended efforts to organize such exhibition to reflect gratitude and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation, which would be repeated on December 05 every year.
At the end, a shield of gratitude and appreciation was presented to Khalifa Foundation for the great effort in all fields on the Island.
