Development Committee of Khalifa Foundation organized a wide meeting to sheikhs and leaders of Socotra today to recognize the situation in the Governorate and its requirements.
During the meeting, Head of the Committee, Sultan Ali bin Essa bin Afrar, welcomed the presenting individuals and presented a brief on the tasks of the Committee consisting of Mr. Salem Daheq, Sheikh of Sheikhs Suliman Shalolha, and Sheikh Ali Salem Omar. He also highlighted that the Committee afforded all efforts to set the developmental plans of the Socotra Archipelago in general in order to provide requirements and improve quality of life.
He assured that supporting efforts and activities of the Development Committee by sheikhs and leaders of Socotra was one of the priorities, in order to provide the remote villages and cities with help through assistance provided by the United Arab Emirates represented by Khalifa Foundation and Emirates Red Crescent.
Furthermore, he praised the continuous role of the United Arab Emirates in the Socotra Archipelago in addition to efforts of His Excellency Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Representative of Khalifa Foundation, as they concerned with providing help in all fields including health, electricity, water, roads, and job opportunities.
