Field teams of Dexim Power Company with great support by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation continue their work in Sheikh Zayed Station 4 –Year of Tolerance in Alama. The technicians and field teams work on installation of pillars and transformers in addition to extension of the underground cables to the western coast as a first phase of Alama Station with capacity of 5 MW.
The work of the station along the western coast region is divided into two phases, as the second phase includes the area from Alama to Salmaho to be 10 MW.
In this regard, the people of Socotra commended the great effort of Khalifa Foundation, especially working in conditions of weather and dust without boring or resting in order to complete the station and the underground cables.
Sheikh Jameel Saleh bin Ahmed highlighted that the role of the United Arab Emirates to Socotra in general and the western region in particular is outstanding. Alama Station Project is one of the most important service projects in Socotra.
Sheikh Hamood Omar Ali commended the great role of the UAE in Socotra. He highlighted that Leaders of United Arab Emirates afforded great efforts to help the people of Socotra in order to complete the station.
In this regard, Saad bin Hamdon expressed his thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates expressing that the people of the western coast region always dreamt of having electricity.
It was worth noting that Khalifa Foundation adopted the electricity sector in the Socotra Archipelago and concerned with providing electricity to all villages and cities.
