The United Arab Emirates represented by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and Emirates Red Crescent keeps providing its humanitarian and charitable support to the Socotra Archipelago through support in many sectors including health sector, which witnessed a tangible qualitative leap contributing to helping the people through the continuous support in health sectors:
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed in Socotra is the only health center that helps the people of Socotra and provides them with integrated health care. It was established in 2012 with support of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and was developed on three phases and provided with modern medical equipment and specialized doctors.
Furthermore, Khalifa Foundation worked on refurbishment and qualification of number of hospitals and medical centers across Socotra seeking to promote health sector and help the Socotra community including Qalansiyah Hospital in addition to health centers in remote and mountain areas and Abd Al Kuri Island.
In addition, Khalifa Foundation contributed to transporting many critical cases, in coordination with Khalifa Hospital, to be treated in N.M.C Hospital in Abu Dhabi and bear all costs.
In response to calls of people and staff of Khalifa Hospital, Khalifa Foundation sent many Royal Jet fights with equipment and medical teams to transport emergency patients directly.
Khalifa Foundation, in cooperation with the medical staff of Khalifa Hospital and Gyrocopter of Khalifa Foundation, worked on sending mobile clinics to remote and mountain areas to treat people and help all people.
The Emirates Red Crescent mobilized various medical missions of doctors, consultants and surgeons by holding medical camps in Sheikh Khalifa Hospital to treat people and help them in avoiding travelling abroad with huge amounts of money.
