As part of the humanitarian and development efforts on the island, the construction works of the residential city construction project in the south of Socotra were continuous in both the regions of Hawrhar and Arshani, with the support of the Emirates Red Crescent.
The project witnessed an advanced level of completion and accelerated work to complete it ahead of schedule, which reached 55% of completion.
Where the construction, roof, finishing and sewage network works have been completed in a large number of residential units in the city.
The completion rate in the service projects of the residential city, which included a primary school, a health unit and a mosque, has reached 70%.
The residential city consisted of 52 housing units, each of which included 2 rooms, a kitchen, a toilet and a council, in addition to educational and health projects, water, a mosque, and a sewage network.
The project contributed to a large extent in helping families in Ben Simon, Eyal Dohr and Badodam areas in finding safe houses with all basic services, and work is still underway to connect the electricity and water network to these areas.
The beneficiaries of the project expressed their thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the brothers in the United Arab Emirates and the Emirates Red Crescent in constructing the city and providing them with integrated and safe housing in their areas, stressing that this worked to alleviate a lot of suffering and strengthened the stability of the people in the region.
