The UAE development, service, and relief efforts of the Qalansiyah and Abdul Kuri in the Socotra Governorate were continuing, which contributed during the past year to transferring the directorate’s status for the better, as it was the main factor in the concerns of service and vital institutions.
To talk more about the UAE humanitarian support in Qalansiyah, Issa Saeed Al-Hakami, the Director General of Qalansiyah, said that it has received great attention from the Khalifa Foundation and received its share of various service projects in various fields, including electricity, energy and the new water project, which is still in the process of work, in addition to the Khalifa Foundation’s interest in supporting education by providing salaries to contractors, opening a training and rehabilitation center and a computer lab, bringing in educational cadres from the Arab Republic of Egypt and other projects that are still under construction.
He added that the foundation’s support also included the islands of Abd Al-Kuri and Samha through the establishment of a runway and a marine tongue on Abd Al-Kuri Island to break the isolation, in addition to many other service projects and a residential city that is still under construction.
Al-Hakami extended his thanks and appreciation to the UAE and its humanitarian institutions, which have an active role in lifting the service and living conditions of the island’s residents.
For his part, Major Imad Ali Al-Kathiri, the Director of Security Qalansiyah and Abdul-Kuri praised the efforts and efforts carried out by the Khalifa Foundation in the city of Qalansiyah through its keenness to provide the needs of the highest priorities and basic services for the Socotri citizen.
He pointed out that the presence of the Khalifa Foundation formed a glimmer of hope for the people through what we saw in our reality, which was not limited to the provision of services only, but also included the humanitarian aspect, including financial aid for people with disabilities.
People of determination and people with limited income within the social care cases that the Khalifa Foundation is still keen to support them on an ongoing basis.
Suleiman Al-Faraghi, Director of the Works Office, confirmed that the Khalifa Foundation has a leading role in providing various services to the people of Socotra, especially the city of Qalansiyah, which is still witnessing the implementation of various vital projects that constitute a turning point in the life of the citizen.
Al-Faraghi expressed his thanks to the Khalifa Foundation and its field teams for their humanitarian efforts to serve the residents of the district and its islands.
