In Socotra Governorate, the implementation of the Umm Al Emarat Hospital for Maternity and Childhood project, funded by the Emirates Red Crescent, is proceeding rapidly.
The hospital is the first of its kind in terms of specialties and equipment concerned with maternal and child health on the island, which contributed to raising the level of health and medical services and care provided to them.
The project, which was built next to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital, consists of two buildings. The first building is to be built with a total area of 1050 square meters. It consists of two floors and includes on the ground floor three waiting halls, an isolation room, five consulting clinics, a vaccination room, two delivery rooms and a postpartum room.
While the first floor includes doctors’ housing and offices in addition to the director’s office, a medicine room, two general dressing rooms for patients and four individual dressing rooms for patients.
The second building is the administration building, which is being built on a total area of 360 square meters. It consists of two floors, and on the ground floor there are two waiting rooms, a pharmacy and a laboratory in all its departments.
On the first floor of the building is the office of the general manager, the director of doctors, the secretariat, the personnel office, the meeting room, the accounting office, and the computer work room.
The company executing the project completed the operations of excavating the building, pouring the floor and reaching the level of the foundations according to the design, and the work is still going on continuously and rapidly to complete the project on time according to its designs according to international specifications.
