Under-18 Camels Racing Competition was launched along the various competitions of Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Socotra Archipelago supported by Khalifa Foundation. The competitor/ Jehad Essa won the first place, while Ahmed Shaafel and Awad Abdel Kareem won the second and third places respectively.
Mr. Anbar Al Ameri, Official and Coordinator of Events of Sheikh Zayed Festival in Socotra, asserted that this competition included 12 competitors aiming at maintaining the heritage of Socotra. He added that it is the first time to be held in Sheikh Zayed Festival.
He also highlighted that racing competitions were annually held under instructions and follow-up of His Excellency Khalfan Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Representative of Khalifa Foundation. It would help in caring for camels. This types of competitions would help in maintaining livestock.
