The agricultural team of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation is carrying out the process of distributing dates to the people of the Socotra archipelago in all regions and islands.
Where the agricultural engineer, Iyad Ali Abdellah, explained that the distributed quantity of dates amounted to 2,962 cartons, of which 2,100 cartons of Socotra dates, which were tired in the Al-Akhawain blood factory, and 862 cartons of external dates, which benefited more than 14 thousand families in the governorate.
Pointing out that the quantity of dates was distributed in four continuous phases to the eastern, western and southern regions, Hadiboh and its suburbs, in the presence of knowledgeable population centers, sheikhs and notables, and this comes in light of the continuous support provided by the Foundation to the archipelago and providing the most important living requirements of its children.
A number of Socotra residents valued the institution’s distribution of this quantity of dates that meet the people’s need of the material, especially as it coincides with the entry of the ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah, during which most of the people of Socotra fast.
Dam Al Akhawayn Factory had fruitful efforts in the process of packaging Socotra dates, producing tens of tons annually and distributing them throughout the island, and greatly reducing the process of importing dates that took place in previous periods. Dam Al Akhawayn Factory is the first and only one in Socotra that carries out the process of packaging and storing dates using modern methods.
