The cultural competitions aimed at acquainting visitors with the festival with all the history, civilization, and nature of the island, rare trees and birds, and everything related to the heritage aspect of arts, industries and other customs, traditions and unique things that characterized the island of Socotra in the past.
The competition achieved wide participation by the festival audience, who took the initiative to answer the questions posed with the definition of an overview of the answer to the question in order to consolidate it in the minds of the visitors and to familiarize the attendees with the huge amount of heritage stock that needs to be collected and taken care of and preserved from loss and oblivion
The competitions presented the audience with distinguished financial prizes provided by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and encouraged them to promote their culture in the heritage aspect and interact with the various activities of the festival. The people of Socotra expressed their happiness at visiting the Sheikh Zayed Festival and enjoying the activities that take place in it and knowing parts of the vanished heritage, adding that the festival watching folk dances gave them a realistic view, in addition to the ancient traditional Socotri industries.
