Day after day, the United Arab Emirates keep achievement of humanitarian efforts in the Socotra Archipelago through its charity hands; the Emirates Red Crescent and Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. The aim is to improve the low quality of life and achieve tangible development by hands of the people of Socotra.
Through a closer look at the quality of life in Socotra, you will find, with no doubt, that efforts and humanitarian activities by the United Arab Emirates are various starting from provision of food and water relief to medical services, equipment, education, agriculture, electricity, and concerning with heritage and traditional crafts.
In respect of relief aspects, Khalifa Foundation was present at all times, even when the roads were blocked due to tropical cyclones, as it was present to transport patients and people from remote places to the hospital for treatment. In addition, the mobile medical clinic started its activities in coordination with Khalifa Hospital in Socotra for provision of medical care for people of remote areas.
In several occasions, the people of Socotra expressed their appreciation and thanks to the United Arab Emirates for the outstanding role including electricity. The Foundation was concerned with providing the people with power stations in addition to modern generators for remote areas. In relation with Socotra International Airport, Khalifa Foundation provided the Airport with two modern sensors for sterilization of arriving and departing passengers in addition to temperature checking.
Visitors to the Socotra Archipelago would witness a tangible improvement in Socotra in the present days comparing to the past. In addition, the visitors would witness the movement of progress and development on the Socotra Island, which had been forgotten for years.
