Head of Development Committee in Socotra, Sheikh Ali Essa bin Afrar, opened a new power station in Zayed City 1 in Satora, which implemented by Dexim Power, with support of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation today.
In the opening ceremony, Sheikh Ali Essa bin Afrar asserted that opening this project was within the developmental plan, which the Foundation set to be implemented in the Archipelago, especially in the essential services.
Engineer Zyad Abdullah Sultan, Manager of Underground Cables Project at Dexim Power, said that the station worked with capacity of 100kv in accordance with the city needs. He highlighted that the company completed installation of 4 distribution panels prior to opening the project; one main panel and 3 for each block across the city in addition to extension of underground cables for 161 homes.
Sheikh Ghanem Al Zahqi, Identifier of Nujed, praised the efforts of the United Arab Emirates in Nujed in particular and Socotra in general, and commended its concern with provision of essential services needed for the people.
Sheikh Abdullah Selim Said, Sheikh of Zayed City 1, expressed his happiness for opening the power station, which was considered as one of the most important services for the people, and expressed his thanks to the United Arab Emirates for the continuous support to the city.
