On Sunday morning, January 05, 2020, a delegation from Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation visited Qalansiyah and carried out a field survey for a group of projects that were going to be implemented soon; Qalansiyah bridge, which was damaged due to tropical depressions and rains. In addition, the delegation checked spaces near the power station in order to expand and implement the solar power project, and visited some villas in order to establish Socotra Center for Training and Consultation in Qalansiyah.
In a statement to Socotra Online, Mr. Essa Said, Secretary General of Qalansiyah, assured that the visit of the team of Khalifa Foundation in order to carry out a field survey was not surprising since their visits have been good news for the people of Qalansiyah, especially for Qalansiyah bridge, expansion of the power station, and establishment of an integrated training institute. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation and His Excellency Khalfan Al Mazroui for their concern with Qalansiyah.
Mr. Salem Said Al Qaisi, Member at the Local Council, said that the steps taken by the Foundation in relation with establishment of the first Center for Training and Consultation in Qalansiyah were great in order to relieve the suffer of the people and qualify them to be a great support for Qalansiyah and Socotra.
Engineer Sabah Mohamed Abdel Kareem, Project Engineer at Khalifa Foundation, said that they carried out field survey for group of projects including Qalansiyah bridge and the space for solar cells in order to be a support to the main station in provision of uninterrupted power connection to Qalansiyah.
